  • Yep. Just look at Bioware. BG3 would have been theirs if they didn’t go the action game route. In the past they made BG and SWTOR, but then they made DA: Origins (not an action game, but moving that direction) and then Mass Effect. At that point they never went back from that direction. They’ve been successful most of the time, but I feel it can only last so long, because it isn’t really made for anyone anymore. I think we can see that now.

It’s impossible now. The reason why they all want to kill them is because they purchased land, refused to hire Muslims who used to work there, then murdered them when they retaliated and stole more land with militias. It makes sense the other people are upset about that.

I don’t know if I’ve seen anyone arguing for that. Even the people wanting to get rid of the state of Israel aren’t usually wanting to remove the people. Prior to Israel forming, Jews and Muslims lived together in relative peace and harmony. They still do in many places.

The issue comes when one group is told that the land belongs to them specifically, or that the other group is inferior or evil. I don’t think removing Israel is a solution at this point, but it does need to fundamentally change. I don’t see a possibility for an ethno-state to not create these ideas. It needs to just become a state, not a state for jews specifically.

I’d argue that magic does have grounding in our world. Sure, we understand today (at leady most of us) that it isn’t real. For most of our history people have believed magic was real though, and attributed real events to magic. We have the word because it has a long history of people thinking it exists. If a story wanted to use “magic” to explain events, that’d be pretty realistic to the times it’s taking place in.

Except there actually were people of different cultures/ethnicities/nationalities in other places in the past, often without anyone caring that much. Sure, it was often notable but it wasn’t always exclusionary. Implying this shouldn’t be done is the real historical fiction.

  • I’m curious if the system being confusing, annoying, and not notifying you if you made a mistake is enough of an excuse to get out of this. I know I’ve been really frustrated by self-checkout (and hence never use them if I have a choice, unless I’m checking out with like one item), and I’m a pretty intelligent and technologically advanced person. I can see plenty of accidents happening with people walking about without having paid for something. This could add up fairly quickly. Is it still illegal if it’s because of choices the store made?

  • You don’t have to. You can just use some petroleum derived fertilizer to make up for all the issues you’re causing and ignore them until you die and it’s someone else’s problem. This also creates more CO2 emissions, which is just bonus food for your crops and warmer temperatures. Totally not an issue that needs to be addressed…

You haven’t used very many DEs, have you? Linux can look far prettier than Windows, which gives you no options and you just have to hope what the corporation wants you to have is also what you want. KDE looks fairly similar to Windows 11 out of the box now. You can make it look like any edition of Windows you want, or make it your own too.

Vertical tabs. I have a plugin on Firefox that lists tabs vertically and they’re also stacked so tabs opened in a tab get nested in that tab. I can’t remember the name, but I’ll update this comment with it when at my computer if anyone wants it.

Bookmarks are too permanent. Tabs are for things I’m interested in but don’t really care about (and so I’ll probably never get back to). I use different windows for different types of things, so it’s organized. I just have an alias to kill Firefox when I want to game.
