You heard right, and it is TERRIFYING. The tagline for the whole game is, “You are not that guy.”

I’m currently playing The Forever Winter… and it is BRUTALLY difficult. Gorgeous game and worldbuilding though. It’s in Alpha so things are very much in flux but I just can’t seem to put this dystopian nightmare down.
Yeah GenX is STILL doing this. Though be of good cheer my millennial brethren…When Skynet takes over, we’ll be secure as long as we slave for the overlords. The rest…?
We’ll pray for you.
I’d love a tutorial on this on Linux.
You can run Heroic Launcher on Linux and it ties into GoG, didn’t know if you knew. (I run Linux too! There’s dozens of us xD)
I like Steam, but they are catering to a certain audience that doesn’t care as much about game preservation. Now that GoG is doing the opposite… it is the optimal place to buy those old games you want to keep forever. Seems simple to me. It’s healthy to have two different markets anyway.
Or just support GoG and buy the game from them.
They planned ahead of decades of work rather than the next quarter

A huge part of my youth was spent in BioWare worlds. They’re robbing me through pure nostalgia at this point.
It occurred to me while playing Helldivers that all the bugs we were killing would probably taste like crab after boiling.
puts on bib and grabs the shell crackers
Or they could, you know, just stop being dicks.
Nope, get it on every version of Windows 11 that I work with. You’re supposed to use your mouse to slide it down on those. Crazy, huh?
Hilariously accurate, especially in modern Window’s systems. Like, you press it and it covers your screen with a ‘slide this to shut down’, which if we could do that, we probably wouldn’t be using the button.
Instead of a 5 second press and done it’s become more like a 20 second struggle to tell the PC you really mean it!

Success!

Outstanding. My turn xD. Wish me luck.

Name one time an inner sphere lance stood against a Clan star in a fair fight and won.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but Wolcott did just this and turned the tide. The Battle of Tukayyid in particular?
And yeah the rest of your post is good… I guess I’m still just kinda confused why Piranha doesn’t really use the canon narrative to drive their stories. It raises the stakes in each game, which is great for player engagement.

Let me know how you do!

Found a couple references on Reddit this morning. Some are suggesting that you take a heavily modified TimberWolf just because the captured mechs are so fast, and to use different strats with your Star as a firing line just to take on the rest while you leg the targets.
I wasn’t keen on modifiying the mechs as I’m not fond of the mech bay, but I guess if I wanna progress I’m gonna have to roll up my sleeves.
And apparently Executioners aren’t the best mech in this sitch. Too many fights, too little ammo.
For myself I made it to the final battle a couple times, but just got wrecked in it. See if you can park your firing line in the water in various places, maybe mod them for ER large lasers and take advantage of the cooling.
Yeah I tend to agree. I adore the Brits but had an argument once over a coffee cup (ik, lol) and why some coffee cups couldn’t be microwaved. I said that ALL coffee cups should be microwavable and they vehemently disagreed, specifically because you could use a kettle, and to get over it.
Then I had to ‘Amerisplain’ haha.
