it’s always been obvious to me that we need something to fill the gap between awk and excel, but please please not excel. please. among the 8 billion people on earth, someone has to have a better idea
I can’t vouch for it, but have you ever looked into nushell? It is built around a table abstraction from top to bottom
Visidata is excellent for little tasks, I’ve found—and I’ve yet to get into its more serious functionality.
R and the tidyverse? It can even generate SQL for you.
Can confirmed. Built the most complicated Excel file. I learned to despise it.
The indicator is calling it a program.
Inexperienced call it a database.
