It’s a product of its time and its popularity in part stems from the replay it got on cable. As such, this meme is pure millennial nostalgia. That said, you can always watch it and judge for yourself.
It was a movie that was fun because of just how dumb it was. Even in its time, it was a very love or hate it movie. It all depends on if you like that style of Ben Stiller comedy.
The first one is a classic, albeit a product of its time. I wouldn’t bother with the sequel though
