No way! His character is rough in the first few seasons but he later becomes the best character by far. Schwimmer nailed the role and got the best lines and situations in the entire show. The older I got, the further I got down the “Ross is the worst character to Ross is the best character” road.
He was chosen for his “hangdog” look/attitude because it was the character arc needed in the initial script, and I hated him at first! After a few years, he did become the glue that held everything together and became my favourite as well
