They are not saying that independently, they were all members of the same cult, and the stories are clearly inspired by the stories that precede.
When it’s 5 levels removed from what’s considered reliable historical evidence, no it should no longer be considered evidence.
That’s like saying that because there are many Harry Potter books, they are stronger evidence for his existence, by your standard, the existence of Harry Potter must be a definite certainty.
Delusions based on superstition is harmful to both the individual and society as a whole, this is a solidly proven fact.
The book should probably no be completely discarded, I can understand historians using it to understand the thinking and culture of the time.
But to believe the supernatural things described in the Bible is an extreme lack of critical thinking.
