TIL that the trend of anime’s signature large eyes started from mangaka Osamu Tezuka’s works, who himself was influenced by Disney and Betty Boop cartoons, and fashion designer Jun’ichi Nakahara’s works. Other factor such as a proverb involving eyes also played a part.
I am just soooo tired of that art style. I know not all anime is like that but goddamn, there’s so much unoriginal design
Preach! This and that little cartoon versions of characters when they are expressing any emotion put me off of so many otherwise good animes.
