I’m enjoying the idea of someone looking at the picture, looking at their cords, looking at the plugs, and then working this out as a solution rather than sending a picture of the plug end and port and asking for clarification.

Like this person probably felt really stupid needing to sort out what’s going on, because it was just unclear, and I enjoy where they ended up all the same. It’s totally wrong, but it’s creative problem solving for sure.

Personally, I prefer things I don’t understand because I don’t have to mentally deal with whatever bullshit they are saying. I can sing it a thousand times without ever thinking too much about it because I know the sounds and not the meaning of the words.

I can belt out a ton of Japanese or Russian music, because I started listening to help my language learning (classes, not self-guided), but I don’t actually understand the songs. I “know the words”, but that’s it.

Interesting. My app allows me to have them separate, so I see all the up separate from all the down, and always have. I refused early on to use anything that combines them because I want the full picture of engagement.

If you use an app, check through the settings and see if it’s supported (all the iOS apps I tested have it). Idk about web, might be something to look into tho since the data is all there, so it’s just be a matter of handling.

For the acidic dishwasher stuff, typically no, but some of the stuff formulated for hard water is mildly acidic. I only know that because I have hard water, and tried it before just getting citric acid powder, which will also strip kiln-cured glass paint, and I lost a nice batch of brewery pint glasses learning that.

But I’m sure it’ll be fine, and if not it’s like a whole new pan! :p

I’ve heard that modern dish soaps don’t strip the seasoning from cast iron, but soaps with lye, or acids (including acidic foods) will. And you are apparently supposed to indeed yes wash the pans with soap when you use them. But if your dishwasher detergent is acidic or has any sort of booster for hard water you might want to just skip the test unless you need to reseason anyway

I don’t cook with cast iron, so do not take that as gospel truth. I use stainless which I season sort of similarly, and honestly haven’t noticed a difference.

Being wrong is just the first step to being right. The biggest thing is realizing there’s something to learn waiting for you, but you never learn if you don’t risk being wrong and making mistakes. (I promise I’m not AI, despite that sounding like a generic platitude)

My childhood didn’t teach me that (woof…), learning about great successes did. They all have a series of fuckups along the way but kept going. Mostly because they came from rich families and had the luxury to fail, but let’s not dwell on circumstances…

Honestly I enjoy when I get all riled up and prove myself wrong before I post whatever bullshit I was going to write. Because I learn something and did a lot of work for it so I won’t make that mistake again.

What bugs the fuck out of me is when I’m right and I know it for a fact… but I can’t find the right evidence because I can’t remember the right string of words to get through SEO hell, and there’s nothing to dispute it, but it’s just hard to find. And then I get bored looking and give up even replying.

If you are on a planet made of them would you not also be required to consume them? So really that’s just hard-mode for the question.
