It’s a really fun game - and if you want a more typical action-RPG vibe, you should also seek out the Genesis Shadowrun game. The games are very different, but both are true to the Shadowrun experience.

Let’s be honest, it’s also everything CP2077 wanted to be.

I tried to avoid translations in my list. But anything by Aeon Genesis is also great, so is Mother 3 with the Tomato Ring. The SMT translations are a high point too.

Having only touched it once, Emerald Rogue is a genuine roguelike in Pokemon Emerald, though I don’t know if it works on a flashcart on real hardware.

Hands down my favorite lately is Shadowrun (SNES) - the addition of SNES Mouse support. It makes the game so, so much better. That’s been huge for me, since the game is a point-and-click adventure. It’s such a quality-of-life improvement. If the mouse existed and was common when Shadowrun was written, I have to hope that they would have thought to allow it.

Also, obviously there’s a huge community of SMW hacks, and pretty much anything well-reviewed on SMW Central, I’m liable to enjoy.

In line with yours, there’s Pokemon UItra Violet, a great hack of Fire Red for GBA. Also Pokemon Naranja, another Fire Red hack that’s based on the Orange Archipelago.

Unfortunately, given that I’m in the NYC DMA, individual franchisees probably couldn’t afford to cut their prices in half, as much as that sucks to admit. Minimum wage here is $15.49 per hour, which is ridiculous. Utilities, insurance (both for the business and the workers), sanitation, taxes, rent, ongoing franchising fees, and material costs do add up. Plus, they’re not seeing the volume that they had been, due to a combination of people like me who aren’t going there and the fact that they’re open less hours (because reliable overnight labor is too expensive).

Agreed, PATRIOT was the worst piece of legislation in about 60 or 70 years.

For me, McDonald’s is way too expensive for what it is anymore. I’m a little ways away from the $8.29 Big Mac, but not by too much. At my local grocery store, I could put together a better burger for significantly cheaper. That’s even if I buy premade patties, buns, and sauces, rather than make them from base ingredients. Buying pre-prepped veggies could get expensive though. They’d need to drop the cost by about 50% for them to reach a point consider to be value, which they can’t afford to do.

If they’re too expensive, stop giving them money. Make food at home or go to a local small business, not a chain franchisee.

Add in the overhead:

• Refrigeration (electricity or otherwise)
• Labor ($7.25+; $15+ in some areas)
• Insurance (In case you get sick from the soda, and you sue them)
• Sanitation (outside contractor, with their materials, labor, and markups)
• Maintenance (machine repairs, etc)

I wish I could agree they were making that much money. But when you include all the costs that they have to run just the soda machine, with all the varieties of soda that they have, they’re not clearing that much profit per cup.

I agree. My opinion that communities should determine their own standards doesn’t mean that individual men should have the right to taunt or threaten the women around them. if you threaten or harass another person, you should be at least fined for that disgusting behavior.

As far as I know, not even mbin allows crossposting between the microblog side and the thread side with any kind of attribution. But I agree, we should be able to post it to different parts of the ActivityPub world.

Man, I wish. There’s a lot of money in that field.

Lost touch with most of my friends during the lockdowns, no romantic connections pending, and home sucks. Work is my escape.

I’m one of the rare people who’ll say that I wish I spent more time at work.
