    Guy Fawkes Day is the Fifth of November, when the English (used to, wouldn’t be surprised if it’s banned now) let off lots of fireworks to remind the government of the peoples power, or vice versa depending on your proclivities.

    More recently the comic (Alan Moore, knows the score) and the movie ‘V for Vendetta’ both featured the

    as a significant thematic refrain. Both are well worth your time. The mask on the left is from the movie, and also used as a symbol by the cyberactivist group ‘Anonymous’

    You can alter the chemistry of plastics so that you end up with microplastics in your food if you go above certain temps with most plastics.

    If you think that’s going to save you look harder, or just go back to ceramics like sane people. Your vasty majority is likely coming from textiles and tires, in the water and air respectively.

    Sure, I was doing genome compression for tree comparison in the late 90s for in memory analysis and the speed up was very significant. The idea of a universal specification format and a universal decoder is IMO bloody brilliant, hell with a bit of training I’d be unsurprised if you could point a LLM at a format and get 90+% of the way there with the specification for most simple-ish formats, and probably have a manual crack at simple relational databases. Potentially you could also switch out huffman for encryption for efficient zero-knowledge proofs as well.
