Ahh good point. That’s frustrating and something I always forget. The numerous updates and adjustments required for games is annoying. There’s certainly something to be said about the days when games were thoroughly play tested and then released in a mostly solid state

So physical purchases only then. Understood
LOL, people unsubscribing is working. I’m shocked it took them this long to react to this, though. The pricing is ridiculous. They would have to slash it in half or more to gain back the number of people lost. Additionally, they keep adding and removing the same games? The value proposition seems low if you have already played the existing catalog.
It seems funny to me that they put all their eggs in one basket (gamepass) and then decided to light the basket on fire and smash it with a hammer(increase the price and put the head of AI in charge of the xbox. Have radio silence on what’s next for xbox for an entire generation of your console while it’s rumored that your next console is your last).

Oh shit I would consider getting this game now. I know the voices were done with text to speech tools and not the same as AI voice stuff, but I think it’s better to keep the artistry in games and not remove that element if possible.
Ooooh come on come on…if they’re gona kill off the Xbox at least let me play my library on pc. Would be the best outcome of this crappy situation
I just want play my existing library on my pc

Agreed. I forgot to mention too that with windows 11 microslop has been prioritizing imaginary gain rather than genuine human work. The whole company feels like it’s a mess, and a drastic shift has occurred. Even compared to a decade ago, it’s drastic. 10 years ago, I thought they were iffy on some of their choices, but they seemed to want to fix windows 10 and the Xbox brand. But it’s only gotten worse now it seems lol
I don’t really trust it, to be honest. I have had an xbox from the original to the series X. But for the past 5 or 6 years, they have been extremely radio silent on a future for the brand. They focused completely on gamepass and nothing else. They shut down so many studios. It just feels like its a gamble

Gaming@beehaw.org•Sincere question: why play long video games?
3·4 months agoIt depends on the game, but i like long RPG’s. Sometimes, it can start to wear out its welcome. But for the games where it works well it’s cool. You get to experience this big world, usually going from a weakling to a strong character by the end. The stories can be really interesting (or bland too).
I recently decided that I am going to take on a game that could potentially take me hundreds of hours to finish and it’s daunting, but if at some point if I start to hate it, I’ll put it down and Google the results of the story and feel content.

6·4 months agoI always think of the rooster call that’s used in Ocarina of time.
There’s also a laser beam noise that gets used in a couple n64 games and various other media. And a couple sounds from golden eye that I’ve heard used.
I can’t say for certain, but I think the popularity is probably due to a lot of these reused sounds being part of sound packs and compilations from the 80’s and 90’s
I appreciate the offer, but I likely won’t be able to play it for a while. I don’t have the time that I would need to dedicate to it at the moment!
I’ve been wanting to play this game for a while. But I think in order to have the best experience, you probably need to get a group together that is willing to play at the same time as you
. I convinced a friend to play a bit(like 4 hours) with me years ago and I thought it was fun! But I don’t think he enjoyed the slower grind of the experience and he dropped off.
Thank you for this. I’ve been meaning to try ps1/2 and GCN for a while now
