Eskating cyclist, gamer and enjoyer of anime. Probably an artist. Also I code sometimes, pretty much just to mod titanfall 2 tho.

Introverted, yet I enjoy discussion to a fault.

  • That’s good.

But there is definitely a cultural difference as well.

That said, it’s not like everyone in the west online is nice, but in western culture it has gotten MUCH better.

It wasn’t too long ago that every english speaking person in a video game chat was absolutely horrible. But today I encounter much more people online genuinely trying to be nice a constructive. Especially in games from studios that care.

And you can leave a negative review, and still be respectful. That isn’t what the majority are doing.

I hope that improves. China has a lack of truly wholesome devs that are also as successful as some western indies. Instead it is a hellscape of companies arguably worse than EA, Activision and Ubisoft.

  • And once again Konami proves they have no fucking clue what horror fans actually want.

These companies keep trying to grab both bones, completely failing to realize the second bone is a fucking reflection.

They have tapped some genuinely competent studios for this comeback of the franchise, but tightening the screws, like, at all, and this shit will blow up. Setting up four games from the start may already have been a mistake.

If Konami wants more, they don’t need to make more Silent Hill. They have so many alternatives.

FFS, they are sitting on fucking Zone of the Enders, despite Armored Core showing there’s plenty of appetite for that kind of game.

Or how about a modern Castlevania? Anyone?

Or, get this, publish for some small indie studios with neat ideas for completely new stuff, as a low cost way to discover new potential franchises?

  • understand the difference between egoism/hedonism

I can see why they might seem similar. And you can certainly pursue hedonism in an egoistic manner.

But I prefer a utilitarian version of hedonism, which doesn’t necesserily need to come with any level of selfishness. It can, but it doesn’t have to.

I make selfish decisions at times, but try to make sure that doing things for my benefit doesn’t cost someone else.

Taking it even further, putting in a bunch of work to throw someone else a super fun surprise party, is hedonistic, but not very egoistic.

Hedonism is to maximise pleasure while avoiding pain. But unlike egoism, it doesn’t have to focus on only your own pain or pleasure.
