  • Because even if this was implemented, rich assholes will find ways around it.

That house? Oh it’s owned by an LLC that rents it from the company I own for $1a month, I then house sit as a second job for $1 a month.

    That car? Same deal.

My internet, home phone, electricity, water, insurance and all other home expenses? Paid for by my company as part of WFH rules for executives.

I also have regular business meetings in Hawaii and other overseas locations for business purposes.

Yep, companies give “unlimited PTO” because it’s a way to actually reduce the amount of PTO employees take.

    Give them 20 days PTO/year? They’ll take around 20 a year.

Give them unlimited PTO? They need to justify every bit of PTO, so probably only get to take 4 or 5 for important days.

  • There’s always a trade off when it comes to any device.

Fast or slow, lots of features or basic, cheap or expensive, thin/stylish or ruggedized, water or other ingress resistant standards. All of these have to be weighted against each other.

Also what constitutes a drop? 4 feet, 40 feet, 400? (sorry if I turned on anyone with a foot fetish)

It is absolutely possible to create a mobile phone with most features people want that survives multiple 4 foot high drops, but it will be encased in a few cm of rubber, the touch screen will be under a noticeable screen protector, and reception might suffer a bit, and it won’t have wireless charging unless you’re ok if that stops working after a unlucky drop. It will also probably be expensive, even more so if you then want to use more premium materials in order to try and slim it down some.

Don’t be part of the problem. Be part of the solution! Start shopping for underwear at Victoria’s Secret, Honey Birdette, etc.

The only downside is occasionally not being sure who’s underwear is who’s. Also it might not fit guys as well, but that can be excused for the extra style.

The ad on the left is for gaming products, but the picture is for a hair eraser/exfoliator. The joke is that gamers are all uWu femboys.

I mean, a lot of us probably are, but there’s going to be a few that are outliers.

Then again, I like my legs being hair free, especially during summer, makes me feel cooler (but only temperature wise, I’m as awkward as all hell otherwise)

    Product is king.

    Inertia is also in play.

Sync for Lemmy is built by the same guy that built sync for Reddit. Built using seemingly a lot of the same code.

I bounced between all the open source apps and have started using sync for Lemmy because it’s familiar and it works. It also seems to be much faster than the others, maybe due to more aggressive caching/prefetching? Or that could be a placebo effect.

I was always having weird issues with jebora and the rest of them, and was not a fan of Voyager’s interface.

I might try connect, jebora, etc again a bit later. Might also purchase the one time and remove for sync, might donate to Lemmy instances, etc.

For now I’m just glad to have a familiar interface.
