I hate to tell you OP, but there’s just about 0% chance that’s gonna happen. Rich people want someone to make an example out of, and the government is all too keen to do it

It’s such a garbage argument when you can just counter with “okay then, release software which allows the public to run them for themselves”.
There are plenty of famous games, including Minecraft (only the most famous game in history) that manage to do that just fine. Acting like it’s impossible just so that you can force people to buy the next game is bullshit.
While I honestly believe nobody can get that kind of money ethically, the fact that he actually put his money where his mouth was on philanthropy whike still alive, and almost all anonymously, is very admirable
It goes to show how morally bankrupt these people are that it takes the fear of death being out into them to get them to do something even remotely good/ethical.
It also unfortunately proves, once more, that violence can absolutely be the solution.
You’re not wrong. It is literal objectification of people haha … Just not in the way the OP meant
Of all the traditions one could use to point out objectification of women, statues was not it. People really do just like getting frisky with statues, regardless of gender
One of mine will let me do it, on her terms of course. The other bolts if you even think about it, despite being the more aggressive headbutter
Th4tGuyII@fedia.ioto Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL that Bill Murray repeated the same day 12,395 times in Groundhog Day13·8 months agoI’m honestly more inclined to agree with longer interpretations, as I’m sceptical that he was enough of a natural at all the skills he demonstrates in the movie to have perfected them all in just 6 weeks
I don’t blame people in the US for believing that, when more than half your population (who actually voted) decided to vote Trump in (again).
Like the guy is unironically a treasonous criminal con-man so obviously under Russia’s (or more specifically Putin’s) influence it’s laughable.
IMO this year has actually felt comparatively longer than the last few since the C-19 lockdowns started. I actually feel like I’m late into the year, rather than having just blinked it away.
Th4tGuyII@fedia.ioto memes@lemmy.world•Any public place frankly, I get a 30 minute lunch and 7-8 people blasting Tick Tocks in a small area...52·9 months agoMan, my brother is the worst for this. Has multiple pairs of headphones, usually at least one on his person, and STILL will blast his Instagram reel on speaker as if everyone around him wants to hear his doomscrolling and brainrot memes
Th4tGuyII@fedia.ioto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Quantum Lock suspends sales due to developers losing access to source code7·1 year agoTo be fair to the developers, they do elaborate a little further in the comments:
Hey everyone, We appreciate the sudden enthusiasm for our game. When we launched it in 2015 into early access and 2016 into full, we were at the vanguard of asymmetrical games. It was exciting, but it was also our first step down the Dunning Kruger curve. QL has bugs that we cannot fix, shaky net code and overall sloppy design. We left the game up for this long so that players who had friends that wanted to play, could still get a copy. However it has been 9 years with minimal to no activity. So we felt it was right to remove it now.
I don’t know enough about this game or it’s community to comment much, but the devs don’t seem to be bad guys - seems like a story of naive developers making a mistake, but doing their best for their community with what they had. For a niche online game with no DLCs, 9 years is hardly a bad run.
To be fair you could call this “search optimisation” and the people on Linkedin would eat this up
Alright, fine. You can have 20 miles or so, but nothing more. Oh and all the islands around it are still our’s.
Th4tGuyII@fedia.ioto Memes@lemmy.ml•Nuclear isn't perfect, but it is the best we have right now.12·1 year agoI agree on them being safe - when rules are properly adhered to, they’re extremely safe, similarly to air travel. People only suspect their safety because when they do fail, they tend to fail spectacularly, again similar to air travel.
Having said that, they may be efficient to operate, but they are by no means efficient to build. They cost a lot of resources, and have a 10 year lead time - plus you need to worry about the cost of waste storage and decommissioning.
So sure, nuclear is better than fossil fuels, but you’re just kicking the nonrenewable can down the road.
That time and resources would be far better spent on renewables, because that where humanity is gonna have to go long-term no matter how well any other alternatives work.
With how much time these “macho” conservatives spend thinking about gay people, even when marrying their own wives, it sure does seem like they’re hiding something
Went in expecting a slightly grittier CoD, and left with the horrors of war and saviour complexes.
I cannot reccomend this game enough - it’s just a shame it got delisted over music licencing, so you can only get it secondhand now.
Putting a photo through an AI photo filter is not artistic. Literally a toddler drawing with a crayon is infinitely more artistic.
