No voice, video, or game streaming in IRC though
Nice, that works fo voice for sure.

That’s fine for some folks, but i game with friends a lot. So far discord is the easiest for that. Been researching alternatives for a bit and might go back Mumble, though

No voice in IRC though
There is so much game in that game

Not where I am. There are kids and old people playing alike. Sure, there are some collectors, but there always will be. Hell, the ATLA set has really good jump start packs, which are explicitly for playing

A lot of Peak with my partner. Having a ton of fun

Just gotta get this aluminum factory up, then I’ll be done. What’s that MAM, you’re done scanning a hard drive? New recipe you say. Guess I need to rebuild that aluminum factory…

despite WOTC’s best attempts
For sure. I mean, they sent the Pinkertons on someone that got shipped product early. That they purchased.

Magic has less staying power than Pokémon
lol, Magic came out 3 years before Pokémon and is currently more popular than ever. Especially with the Avatar TLAB and Final Fantasy releases.
Just because you don’t like a mechanic doesn’t mean it won’t last. Hell, Civilization is one of the most popular video game franchises of all time

Did you read the whole thing, or even like halfway? Multiple concept artists are quoted in the article saying it makes their lives more difficult. You know, more work in the bad way. The thesis of the article is that it makes the job harder, makes for a less than unique art style, and potentially fewer jobs for artists.
Unless you actually meant “more work” in the bad way, of course. If so, sorry for the rant

I enjoy Nightingale. The crafting system is pretty deep, but the combat is pretty meh.

The only reason I got a PS5 was because my PS4’s HDMI port got damaged somehow. The controller is a significant upgrade if games use it, but not a lot do. Looking back, I probably would have been fine without it at all since I have a Steam Link and that works great in the TV

In this case the article references specific arcade beat-em-ups that the game reminds them of, so I don’t think it is off base.
Oh, not real co-op. She made decisions and I just controlled Jin

I bounced hard of the first two Witcher games and to a lesser extent the third. The controls in the first are especially bad though

I paid for Nightingale on Steam, and I still give it a recommended. For sure shows it’s early access bones, but the crafting is deeeep. Hard sell for some folks though, since it doesn’t tutorialize well.
I played the first one “co-op” with my partner, and that helped dampen some of the repetitive elements. She made all the decisions and I controlled the game Will probably do the same with this, but much farther down the road when it is cheaper
This is probably just confirmation bias. The list of games they have worked on is pretty small in the large scheme of games (1-4 a year with the exception of 2023). A lot of the games are enjoyed by the wider gaming audience (Alan Wake 2, God of War Ragnarok, Sable, etc). Most of the ones that are bad (like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League) are bad because of things outside the part SBI took in the game.
The wikipedia page has a lot of good info on the nontroversies plus a list of games they have been involved in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweet_Baby_Inc.
