Bending spacetime.
I’ve always wondered what the WTF in LLM stands for.
So the ceo admitted he screwed up and is quitting without a golden handshake? No? Ok then.
That’s typical of today; executives screw up and the workers get fired.
Holy Ravioli!!
I can see how decades of working at Microsoft can turn someone into a goose farmer. I’ve been using their products for decades and some days I never want to see their products again.
Middle Ages? Try the mid 20th century.
The original DOOM game was the first game I played with a friend where our PCs were connected together. It was a riot, especially when wearing headphones and hearing growls from behind you. I know modern tech has improved exponentially and graphics are unbelievable. But at the end of the day, it’s the experience that counts. And experiencing a multiplayer game for the first time like that, hasn’t been beaten yet, for me.
Yep, this is my life.
The Enshittification continues! I have no interest in playing games on Netflix so they won’t get ad revenue from me.
One option is to help out various open source projects. That gives you an endless supply of options, languages and applications. You, the project and its users all benefit.
A very recent university graduate joined our company many years ago. He was quite the C++ wizard, whereas we were slowly migrating from VAX Pascal to C++. No one could understand the code he wrote as he was using all kinds of jiggery pokery without comments. We had to ask him to simplify and comment his code! 😁
That doesn’t say much about us at the time!!
Of those options, VueJs over Lia but your Java skills should transfer over to C# if you can educate yourself in that and dot Net.
I wish it was simple as people quitting and others not applying for jobs at Amazon. Without major government help, there’s no way to defeat Amazon’s slave labour. Yes unions can form, but will that ultimately make a difference? I hope so, I really do. I grew up in the era of miners’ striking and picket lines in the uk, and I really wish Amazon workers could strike under a union and retain their jobs, with no payback from the company. It sounds like Amazon will happily punish anyone with more punishing work or less work at will. Sickening.
Sounds like Amazon describing themselves.
Minimum wage is simply the lowest full time salary a company can legally get away with paying. Nothing more, nothing less.
I’m primarily talking about large corporations that make millions and billions, yet claim they can’t afford to pay more than minimum wage.
I learned Lisp at uni and hated it. Thankfully that was long enough ago that I’ve forgotten everything I learned about it.
Darwin, where are you?! We need you to dole out more awards!
