Kinda like how Kevin O’Leary thinks more poor people incentivizes more business startups. As if homeless people and poor families are just a few business courses away from millionaire status.

Literally nobody was complaining about how Aloy looked in the remaster. 1 incel complained about her “beard” from the tech demos for the PS5 version of FW, but there’s been zero noise about how she looks in this re-release. People were complaining that it didn’t need a remaster, considering more people play PS4 than PS5 and the PS4 version still looks fantastic.
This is astroturfing by Sony/Guerilla.
I always liked Doonesbury. Gary Trudeau was never afraid to call out a little bullshit, heavy on the satire.
For real. I hate seeing dudes with their shirts off jogging down my block. Like, fuck off attention seeker. If your shirt makes you hotter to the point where it interferes with your exercising, you’re wearing the wrong item of clothing. Attention seeking and ill prepared.
Women being topless is legally allowed literally everywhere in Canada.
I would opt out of your employer health insurance, and go fully private with a policy in your own name. There’s no way in hell that that premium is real.
It’s fine. I like plenty of movies that aren’t criterion level cinema. The remakes are cashgrabs meant to capitalize on your nostalgia though.
It’s too bad they don’t have ownership of their company any longer. They sold B&J to Unilever and now they have a reduced platform to share progressive values. Any progressivism out of Unilever is cynical corporate pandering.
Social sciences do though.
“White” isn’t a race nor is it a culture. That’s why the definition keeps changing over time. In Western society, white people are still the predominant and dominant demographic, which is why it’s still important to discuss issues of race and culture with members of those races and culture. “Not seeing race” isn’t a virtue, it’s sticking your head in the sand and pretending you’re enlightened.
Literally every single live action remake that Disney has created has been inferior in every single way to the originals. Aladdin, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, all terrible cash-grabby productions (esp. TLK, good lord it’s bad).
At this point, I’d be surprised if there was anybody outside of China that actually watches Marvel content.
People reference white Americans as “Americans of European descent” very regularly.
I think people need to figure out if the race of a character is culturally significant in any way in the context of the story and IRL. Like, part of Black Panther’s whole deal is he’s from Africa. Hard to budge on that character’s ethnicity. Ariel from the Little Mermaid could literally be any ethnicity and the story would remain the same. Crying about white erasure is pathetic when no actual culture relevant to white western people is being lost.
But what does the meme mean? What messaging has the West given in favor of using pagers?
While I agree, Nintendo as a corporate entity sucks major balls, “nothing of value in at least a decade” is patently false.
Like, yuzu wouldn’t have been such a smash hit if Nintendo was releasing value-less titles.
The context that he meant it was poor people are going to be hungry, so they’ll hustle and start businesses to be rich and successful.
