There is a difference between learning a language and be productive with it, and with mastering a language. Being a good software developer is another thing.
Worse thing to do after a layoff.
How does it compare to largest deepseek ans Claude opus 4.6? I hot used to blazing fast speed and accurate results. I’m not buying a server and 128 GB of RAM just to run a model similar to gpt-4.
One jas to Knox how expensive LLMs are by trying to run one at home. Tried running it myself, figured out I need more than 128GiB of RAM and thousand dollars in grahics card. Figured out a $5 openai per month is cheaper, and also understood they are burning money by providing a free service and 20$ subscription.
Very smart choice. Education is a good field. 👍
That sounds rough. Respect for keeping things moving, especially with three jobs. Seriously impressive dedication. If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of work are you doing to make this setup possible.
How are you even working three jobs?
Two important things:
- In case of justified need, can a person afford their car or is a downgrade or change to a more affordable car the right move.
- The car might be just an option and one can go with owning one.
Biggest car costs are insurance, taxes and big repairs as you said. In lots of countries those costs can go down if you choose the right car. Other option of not owning a car, while varying in difficulty, include car pooling, taking the bus or other kinds of public transportation, moving near place of work or at least moving near public transportation lines.
It means you cannot afford that car and should either get an appropriate one or none.
I tried it, a bit hard to do.
Browser crashing once or twice a month is big indicator your torturing it. Memory gets so full it is auto-killed (out of memory situation) I get a browser crash once in 5 years.
Not storing tbas on close is a smart idea.
I feel you lived this situation a lot.
20 tabs? such a noob. No less than 57 per window.
A lot of people misuse tabs. I see lot of horror usage at work. Many empty open tabs. Multiple tabs of the same thing. And the list is too big the person itself gets lost each time they need to go back to something. They don’t even close anything. Always open in a new tab. So this image is almost real for some people I know.
