I always point to the Alabama Senate election between Roy Moore and Doug Jones. Roy Moore, known pedophile, vs. normal Democrat. Far too many conservatives went on record saying “better than a Democrat”.

They are so anti-pedophile until suddenly they’re not. What a disgusting thing to change your opinion on, person to person.

I feel like Vietnam veterans who were objectors could fall in this category. Plenty of them were forced to go. In the end, anyone who was drafted and didn’t want to be would have some level of understanding from me.
