Yeah I was taught coping skills back in the 90s. It hasn’t affected me that much. I hold down a good job and communicate just fine with everyone I need to. Only issue I have ever had is smug jerks on the internet lacking empathy. Saying like the stuff above instead hey I think you ment their vs they are and moving on with the conversation. Instead of the sad need to look superior like they are the god keepers of the language.

Mainly when I read, stuff moves around and I can’t read phonetically i learned to read by memorizing how words look as a whole. so I sometimes get words that sounds the same mixed up and my spelling is garbage. So whatever my keyboard gives me is what I go with. Thanks for the empathy and compassion.

  • This is not a story of the algorithm predicting what you like. It’s showing if you expose a human to the same content over and over again. It can change their way of thinking in order to like the thing they are exposed to. Even more so if they don’t know how it works and the person think everyone is into slime. I need to be into it too to fit in. It’s very powerful if you want to manipulate populous. It’s algorithm induced Stockholm Syndrome.

  • I know this is not everyone and there’re some unicorns out there but after working with hiring managers for decades i can’t help but see cheap programmers when I see Devops. It’s ether Ops people that think they are programmers or programmers that are not good enough to get hired as Software Engineers outright at higher pay. It’s like when one person is both they can do both but not great at ether one. Devops works best when it’s a team of both dev and Ops working together. IMO

you are correct i feel guilty every time I use it. but making my company pay for a license on every job I work on. it’s got one of the best licenses you can get for proprietary software. my only concern is it might go away and can’t last forever like open source can.
