Sure a 5 year old doesn’t have the vocabulary and mental fortitude to understand or explain the concept.

But if you have a child, you raise them for 5 years, I assume you care about them. You can explain “Can you help mommy set the table?” or “Can you pass daddy the plates?”

You don’t need to explain the process of your work and the commute and other things. But if you just explained things to your children, they’ll understand. When my parents did, I got to understood the task and why they wanted it. When my mother or my boss barked orders without any understanding why or how, I was left more confused.

And trust me, I worked retail, most people are fine, some people are real pieces of work. I still have some horror stories of customers, some frequent, some once or twice. But what got me out of every single one, was talking it out. From a dude who had literally half of his skull and brain missing, to my co-workers, to the average customer I forgot by the end of my shift.

• I think reading about lost media is interesting, especially when its some important event, or the search for it remains fun. Lost Doctor Who episodes are wild. Lost images of the first display of television is weird to consider, when anyone here has never been without television. I understand I’m probably weird on this however.
• I think approachable and digestible is a good, but my mother really enjoyed true crime, and the two choices were “Direct weekly documentary” like a Cold Case Files, or something that reads as like its water cooler talk about this week’s new drama on Fx. Like the hosts really enjoyed reading about a double-murder. I also understand I’m probably pretty weird on this one.

Except DefunctLand and Expedition Theme Park, those two are really nice.

Truly no one knows how hard it is to be a follower of the majority belief, and never need to defend it from the state.

Also here’s a brief list of things Christians tried to cancel in the United States: Comic books, rock and roll, jazz, dungeons and dragons, magic the gathering, radio, television, other forms of Christianity, anything remotely queer, Italians, Irish, Chinese, Jews, abolitionists, civil rights marchers, feminists…

Even if it was, using media to explain ideas of politics isn’t new nor is it bad. Like how is using Star Trek or Star Wars or any other piece of media that the public is familiar with on a cultural level inherently a “Gotcha!” to an argument/debate?

My main reason is I’m an American, China (probably) can’t do shit to me. But here I’m subject to so much shit America can do legally and illegally, with zero repercussions.

If China fucked me in particular over, odds are it would at least spark debate here. If America spied on my messages and stopped me from protesting something, that’s just a Tuesday afternoon here.

The only reason why Congress wants to ban it, is due to pressure from news agencies and the government, because TikTok can’t be controlled by the CIA. You can’t manufacture consent of the people if the content comes from someone else you don’t control.
