Hmm, I think I’ll throw out all of my keycaps now since you’ve convinced me they’re useless. Happy? Lmao. Not sure what the fuck you’re trying to do here.

Overproduced, sure. Discarded? Not really. There’s a massive culture of swapping, similar to PC parts or craft notions and yarn.
Maybe the companies responsible for the fact that you have microplastics in every organ should be the focus of your ire instead of random strangers.
Any PCB that’s compatible with QMK firmware (and maybe others, but QMK is easy & the most well-known) should be able to be flashed with any layout, so even if you get tired of Colemak, you can change it to whatever you want. :)
Edit: You can also get hot-swap sockets that allow you to change your switches without desoldering anything.
As a fellow Colemak user who has used other layouts in the past, I have to wonder how many of the issues I have with my keyboard now are because of Colemak, since I didn’t seem to have them with Dvorak or Workman.
But maybe I’m just salty that my WPM never recovered fully after switching.
The best way to “try before you buy” is to go to keyboard meetups in your area if they’re available. Unfortunately, that does leave a lot of folks out, but if you live in a city that will probably be your best bet.
I have a split ortholinear keyboard that I made with parts from Keebio, I fucking love it. It has really reduced wrist strain for me.
It’s the Levinson Rev. 3, which is relatively cheap (this is an expensive hobby just FYI) if you want to get into keyboards.
Edit: Levinson Rev. 3 was discontinued but the BFO-9000 is still a good option for a no-frills dip into things.
It’s pretty generic overall, but some parts of the worldbuilding are better than others. It fits together in fun ways, and the later stuff is better, but most of the early-game stuff is bland. Just FYI - I never beat it, but I played about 40 hours in 2015 and right now I’m about 10 hours into a replay.
I don’t know if it’s just because of the time since I’ve last played, but Re-Reckoning has felt like a lot more of a chore to play than the original. I don’t remember absolutely loving the original, though; it was always pretty mid, I just thought it was charming.

Do what you want, its your experience that is ruined, not mine.
The fact that you believe there’s a single way to play a game is so fucking hilarious when stuff like speed-running and challenges exist. Oh well. Enjoy your purist bullshit.
If the opinion is “playing on easy means you don’t actually want to play,” I’m gonna give it the criticism it deserves.
Let me have my opinion. Why even leave your comment if you are pro-opinions?
Or maybe they just don’t have fast reflexes so easy is… easier. My wife almost never plays on normal because she can’t.
If she plays on normal, she will never finish the game and be so frustrated that it will cause her not to enjoy her evening. She works a lot and needs to de-stress when she gets home, so playing on easy is the best way for her.
Stop judging people. Just play your game and enjoy it.
I would recommend Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. The normal mode is already stupid easy, so you feel like a god on easy mode.
It’s a fantasy setting with a ton of story and lore, so if you don’t care about that it may not be for you.
I don’t understand how such a stupid system became the standard… ATS have almost single-handedly ruined job hunting. Most of the other internet stuff I have to use every day works alright but ATS just suck. Avature especially!
I thought the term “Fediverse” specifically referred to software that uses ActivityPub to federate content across instances. Like how Git is decentralized, but it’s not federated. Now I’m confused.
Didn’t Elon Musk spend $45 billion on Twitter after promising to end world hunger if someone gave him a plan to do so? I think that would be a few years’ worth of ending global hunger if the estimate of $8-10 billion per year is even remotely still accurate.
There is more than enough money, food, and shelter in the world. But the rich are using the money they got by exploiting people to buy media companies, yachts, islands, and space rockets.
Isn’t this why reverse image search exists? Some people are just assholes, but there are tools to help you find a source.
That sounds like a fucking nightmare. I had to troubleshoot poorly-written-yet-somehow-functional GOTOs a lot when I was a BAS technician and that’s annoying enough.
Ventrilo was the shit back then.
Yeah, for some reason I find this hard to read. I think it might be the lack of contrast between the fonts? Could be fixable by adjusting the weight instead of totally changing the font, though. (I would change the handwritten-looking one just because I find it kind of ugly.)
