After mostly playing BG3 lately, I’m now back to Factorio. I figured that since my angelbob mainbuss save passed 1GB, it was time to start something new, so I decided to give Space Exploration a go. I hope to have it completed by the time the space expansion for Factorio is released.

My private PC: a shell script for altering xmodmap more to my liking. Nothing else.
Work PC: endless excel files, text files with notes, a bunch of schematics in pdf format, new folder, new folder (1), aoeu.txt, misc shortcuts, a folder full of stuff I probably don’t need anymore but shouldn’t delete, a couple of work related pictures, a myriad ofbhalf-finished reports, a 4gig dd dump that I honestly don’t remember making, only that it was important for later for… something. Sometimes i take everything and stick it into a subfolder with a date as the name, in an attempt at cleaning up the desktop while keeping things that might still be important. I have five of these folders on the desktop. I ought to make a sixth.
I had forgotten all about that game until your description made uneasy memories of those boss battles awaken.
I’ll let Randall Munroe decide that himself, considering the fact that he provides URLs for hotlinking below the comics

Leaving the hospital with thousands of dollars gone is just US developers adding realism.
All of the Grand Theft Auto games have you respawn outside of a police station or a hospital.
As someone who flies a lot as part of my job, I mostly use airline miles to upgrade my seat to business class. On a few occasions I cover the upgrade myself if the price is reasonable.
Why? Because as a somewhat tall guy, when I have a 10 hour flight a coach seat makes me ache for days. And if it’s an overnight flight, a business class seat actually enables me to sleep.
On business trips that only last a couple of days, the project managers sometimes approves business class tickets, so that we’re actually fit for work when arriving.
Any flights longer than 5-6 hours is usually when I begin to consider upgrading. Because then I have a chance to actually get some rest onboard instead of just sitting there, waiting.
EDIT: Business class comes with lounge access, and for some that’s also a plus, but my frequent flier level already gives me lounge access all over the world, even when flying riffraff-class. Plus business class also comes with extra luggage allowance, but I have that by default too.
I wish I could forget all about Day of the Tentacle, so I could play it all over again and rediscover everything.
That whole ordeal with Red Dead Uncle Fred is hilarious, especially after IRS arrests him and restrains him with literal red tape.
If windows didn’t exist, linux would dominate with the problems you describe, and we’d still see this meme, but advocating for FreeBSD instead.
That being said, I like them both. It’s been a while since I last used bsd, so I think it’s about time I give it another spin.
It is my firm opinion that void* should be named “disappointer”
