  • They all have their quirks, but until airsonic-advanced catches up with the latest opensubsonic API, I’ve been trying out Audinaut, DSub, and Ultrasonic. I had to reorganize my whole library, though.

I’m not a fan of these album-based apps. most of my music falls under “Various Artists”. As such, I’ve been playing around with Musicbrainz Picard to try different tagging in an attempt to try to find something that works across both at the server and client end.

Subsonic doesn’t work for me, I’m guessing because it refuses to fall back to earlier versions of their API. I could be wrong.

  • There are many examples of this, but one that comes immediately to mind is the evolution of my favourite LDAP-enabled music player, airsonic-advanced

    Subsonic begat libresonic

Libresonic begat airsonic as well as a whole bunch of other projects.

    Airsonic begat airsonic-advanced

Airsonic-advanced begat kagemomiji/airsonic-advanced, however the maintainer of the parent codebase, randomnicode, wants to do the right thing and get their code up to snuff with the opensubsonic API (not sure where that fits in to thr history) so kagemomji can take over.

  • Yup, and it’s just regular antihistamines. I took seldane for a while until they took that off the market, then it was on to reactine. It was a bit of a slap in the face when the reactine became non-prescription, and therefore somehow not medically necessary according to my insurance provider.

  • When I got married and had a kid, I discovered “trouble swalling pills” is indeed a phenomenon.

I have been taking pills since I was five thanks to my temperature-based allergy. I just salivate when I see a pill. It’s quite inconvenient when I am handling my child or spouse’s medicine.

  • My favourite is:

Them: We want less red in the pie chart. Fix that remote vulnerability.

Me: We don’t even have that component enabled. It’s reporting on a DLL file version, not the vulnerability itself.

Them: Just lower our vulnerability score.

(Me wondering if I deploying dozens of fully-patched systems would have the same proportional effect)

I suspect the dumbfounded reply you received was because one expected the word ‘epidemic’ to be used instead.

‘pandemic’ usually is taken to mean it has spread across several international boundaries. ‘pan,’ meaning ‘all.’
