I blocked both instances, so no posts from either show in my feed and comments from users on those instances on other posts appear as “blocked by an instance filter,” which you can choose to show it if you want

Block the instance.
That’s an app specific feature, lemmy doesn’t actually naively do that. And the app I prefer doesn’t have it yet.
