I feel like Go Your Own Way is more of a breakup song than it is a diss track. It’s about how he loves her but knows they want different things.
Still BRUTAL to have Nicks doing the backups on the line that is very obviously specifically about her.
Their biggest album was songs about each other, their relationships going sideways.
Impressive… Lol

Yea, but in return Buckingham sang the lead vocals in a song clearly about him (The Chain). It’s great to watch the live recordings because you can see how nicks and buckingham are spitting the words at each other.
Oh man, have a link to the recording you’re referencing?
This would be it. Great performance. And Nicks and Buckingham are definitely letting sth out there.
Knew the exact live performance when you described it.
Not much of a coincidence but Edge of Seveteen is literally on the radio right now. Sad they spam this stuff as good as it is.
Watch this live version of Silver Springs; it’s like the wounds are still fresh even two decades later
I tried listening to find what you’re talking about, but I cannot endure her goat-bleating voice. I honestly wonder how her band members can endure listening to that fingernails-on-chalkboard voice hours a day for decades. I’m glad I could click away so easily.
I mean, you’re not wrong. But, some of the most artistic singers don’t have the best voices. Bob Dylan, Kurt Cobain, Biz Markie, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, etc.
No Doubt: Am I a joke to you?
Shhh… Don’t Speak
To be fair, No Doubt could be kids of FMac
Now I want them to do The Chain but with trumpets
I mean, after the year 2000, yes No Doubt entirely became a joke.
Which is extra sad considering how decent their first 3 albums were and how cool Gwen used to be vs the sellout she is now (a term I almost never use for anyone).
You start with a bunch of drama. Mix in some personal animosity and a dash of dysfunction. Then you add a little cocaine. Ok, a little more. Actually let’s go with a lot more. Mix it all up real good. Then you take the mixture, give it a dramatic name, like “Rumours”, pop it into a record press, and voila! Out pops a crisp, best selling album.
Quote possibly the greatest album ever made.
oh shit new template
any time I ask fleetwood mac fans what makes them special, it’s always that they were really awful to one another, and the person telling me about it always gets really excited like I should be impressed that they were really awful to one another.
To be fair, if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that shitty people make great music. No idea why that is, but it’s weirdly consistent.
Maybe thats why my guitar skills never developed passed the first 5 frets: basic empathy.
Fleetwood Mac: music for, by, and with cheaters.
New red flag dropped?
Lamb of God also did this with “Redneck”
Not according to Randy, they didn’t.
Generally, it’s not about any one person in particular. It’s about people in the music industry whose egos become needlessly inflated and they show it. It’s a general song. It’s applicable to anyone in their life.
- Randy Blythe to metal hammer after the Grammy nomination
I don’t have the actual source but I read it on Wikipedia way back
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Redneck_(song)&oldid=602726840
Don’t know why it got deleted.
“It’s pretty clear to everyone who the song [Redneck] is about. Just watch the Killadelphia DVD, and you’ll see what was going on. I love Randy like a brother, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have our problems. So if I have to be the one to say something, then I will. And if that means that someone’s gonna get punched in the mouth, then someone’s gonna get punched in the mouth… And if that means someone’s going to have to sing a lyric about themselves, then they’re gonna sing a lyric about themselves.”
This is more appropriate I think
Ok boomer
A meme about Fleetwood Mac, and I’m a boomer for adding Drake images?
The joke is, the meme template you suggested is older than the one in the post.
Oh… well good try.
Sorry you didn’t see that
Unfortunately, yes. Drake is sooo last week, and Not Like Us.
I understood this reference.
The animosity in Tusk makes me cringe.
